slimsmartKind hearted members of staff at Crewe-based telemarketing company SMART are set to continue their impressive charity fund raising by starting a staff slimming club.

slimsmartSlimSMART has been set up to encourage the call centre’s staff to improve their diet and to promote a healthier lifestyle. Furthermore all proceeds raised from the slimming club’s weekly meetings will be donated to Plan, the child-centred humanitarian charity.

SMART Founder and Director, Heather Carter, says: “The weekly weigh in fee is only a pound and it’s a great incentive for those members of staff who want to lose a little weight - especially in time for Christmas. But most importantly we’ll also be raising funds for Plan which is a charity that is very close to all of our hearts here.”

Club meetings will feature weekly slimming tips and Slimmer of the Week prizes donated by the company. To boost the company's charity fundraising efforts, January will be sponsored slim month and all proceeds will be donated to the Plan charity.

Heather says "This will be a great opportunity for staff to get in shape and shed some of those pounds gained during Christmas, while helping to raise more funds for charity."

Plan is SMART’s chosen charity and the company organises a variety of fund raising events every year. A recent sponsored half marathon run by Team Manager Edward Carter raised in excess of £2,000 for the charity and SMART’s sponsored Halloween dress down day boosted the funds by a further £250.
